We have seen some of the classic monsoon recipes in the previous parts. But, this time, we at Hafele tried to twirl the recipes and have attempted to get some of the not-so-common homemade monsoon delicacies you will love to relish on a breezy, rainy evening.

Instant Bhadang in Microwave

Let’s start with an easy-to-make and instant recipe Bhadang, primarily used as an evening snack in every Indian household. The dish is both tasty and healthy for easy digestion.

Ingredients:

  • 500 gm puffed rice
  • 50 gm roasted peanuts(optional)
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • 1 or 2 green chilies or as per your taste
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 small spoon of vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 10-12 curry leaves

Method

  • Place a deep Kadhai on your ZETA Plus 480 Built in Hob from Hafele. Add oil and heat it sufficiently for the basic tempering.
  • Chop the green chilies with slight slanting cuts.
  • Add cumin & mustard seeds and green chilies to the oil and allow it to temper until you hear the last crackling sound of mustard seeds.
  • Now add peanuts to the tempered ingredients
  • Next, add the rest of the items, like hing, turmeric powder
  • Once done with the tempering, add puffed rice and salt as per your taste and give a final mix.
  • Garnish it with some finely chopped onions, coriander, and tomato if you wish.

Your Garma-Garam Bhadang is ready to be served!

Do not add the garnish to all of it, as Bhadang is a snack you can store for a longer time. You can also store this in an airtight container and munch on it whenever you like.

The stored Bhadang might get soft with time, so every time you crave it, take as much as you wish to eat in a microwave-safe bowl and reheat it in your Hafele’s J34MWO Plus Microwave Oven for around 2 minutes.

The best thing about this oven is it won’t burn your Bhadang. Reheating the Bhadang in a kadhai on a gas hob might not heat it uniformly.

Plus, you will have to constantly fear burning it, as puffed rice is easily burnable.

But with J34MWO, you don’t have to worry about burning as the oven’s convection mode helps heat the food uniformly without charring it.

Baked Kachori

Our following recipe is something that is loved and accepted by all Indians, and you should definitely not miss out on it.

Ingredients:

  • 50 gms urad daal
  • 3 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 6 teaspoons dhania
  • 4 teaspoons fennel
  • 1/4 teaspoon Hing
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 250 gms wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • Water
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons of oil

Method

  • Add wheat flour, sugar, water, and yeast to Hafele’s Klara Highline Kitchen Machine, and knead the flour into a smooth dough. Keep aside the dough for about an hour.
  • Meanwhile, dry grind urad daal, fennel seeds, and dhaniya seeds separately into a smooth powder with Hafele’s Klara Highline Kitchen Machine.

Use its small dry grinder to grind these spices into smooth powder without adding water.

  • Take the urad daal powder in a bowl and add water to make a paste. Keep it aside for half an hour. The mixture will rise and appear dry.
  • Add red chili, fennel, dhaniya powder, salt, and hing. Mix well
  • If needed, add a bit of warm water to make it soft. Keep aside this stuffing.
  • Make small dough balls, and with your thumbs, make a space in the center of the ball that looks like a pit.
  • Fill the stuffing mixture into this pit and close the openings. Shaping it into a round-shaped stuffed Kachori.
  • Prepare all the kachoris as you wish and transfer them to a baking tray.
  • Preheat Hafele’s J34MWO Plus convection Microwave Oven to about 160°C and bake the kachoris until they look crispier or get light golden-brown.
  • Serve with hot steaming tea!
