Easy Snacks Options For Kids This Summer Vacation

Onion Tikki

This is one of the healthiest snack recipes as you don’t fry the tikkis. Serve these tempting tikkis to your child as an evening snack.


Ingredients 

For stuffing:

  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup poha
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • ¾ teaspoon chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala
  • 2 chilli
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoon coriander
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For dough:

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Water (for kneading)

Method

  • Take a bowl and add all the ingredients mentioned in the stuffing section and mix them well as you knead and mix the spices well with poha and onion slices. Keep this mixture ready.
  • Now take dough ingredients, wheat flour, salt, oil, and water and knead the dough with the help of Hafele’s Klara Kitchen Machine. It will prepare a soft dough. Cover it and let it rest for 20 min.
  • Once done with kneading, prepare square folding from the dough.
  • Now add the stuffing material according to the dough folder and seal it properly.

Ingredients

For potato stuffing:

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 2 chilli (finely chopped)
  • ½ onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 potato (boiled & mashed)

For dough:

  • 1 cup milk (warm)
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 7 gram dry yeast
  • 2 cup maida
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  • First, prepare the aloo/potato stuffing—heat oil in a pan. Add cumin, chili flakes, and chilies. Sauté for some time. Now add onion, ginger garlic paste and sauté again. Now add other spices and salt. Sauté for a while. Now put off the flame and add smashed potatoes to the mixture. Keep aside.
