To begin with, here’s a traditional dessert with a modern twist: Basundi Panna Cotta!

Basundi Panna Cotta


One of the most popular recipes from Maharashtra, Basundi, is twisted by turning into a Panna Cotta, which is an Italian dessert made from cream, sugar, and gelatin.

It is a light and creamy dessert that can be easily customized with different flavors. To make Basundi Panna Cotta, we will need,

Basundi Preparation

Ingredients

  • 1 litre full-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar or as per taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A pinch of saffron strands
  • 1 tbsp chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios)

Methods

This gas hob is perfect for the foods that need to be simmered and slowly cooked. With its consistent uniform flame, these hobs give uniform heat to the entire bottom of the pan and gets adjusted according to the shape of the vessel.

    • Once the milk starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
    • Once the milk gets reduced to about half its original volume, it will get thickened. Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the milk and stir well.
    • Let the milk simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture thickens further.
    • Turn off the heat and let the Basundi cool down to room temperature.
  • Once the Basundi has cooled down, refrigerate it until we prepare our Panna Cotta 

Panna Cotta Preparation 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Basundi
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons of gelatin
  • 1/4 cup of warm water

Method

  • In a bowl, heat the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves.
  • Take another separate bowl. Add warm water to it and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let it settle for a few minutes until it softens.
  • Add the gelatin mixture to the cream mixture and whisk with the help of Hafele’s Klara kitchen machine until everything is well combined.
  • Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.

Once the mixture is cooled down, add Basundi to the mixture and stir well.

Pour the mixture into individual serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 4 hours in your ARG650NF Free Standing Refrigerator, or until the Basundi Panna Cotta has set.

Garnish with chopped nuts and serve chilled.

Kheer Puri



Kheer is a classic Indian dessert often served during festivals and celebrations. For this Gudi Padwa, we have paired Kheer with Puri, a deep-fried bread made from wheat flour. The combination of the creamy Kheer and the crispy Puri is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.

Let’s begin!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/4 cup of basmati rice
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • A pinch of saffron
  • Oil for frying
  • Wheat flour for the Puri dough
  • Water for the Puri dough

Method

  • Take your Hafele’s Viola Blender. Add milk, rice, sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron until everything is well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a saucepan and place it on your Hafele's Altius FS 490 Built-In Fully Sealed Gas Hob, as you need to use the gas hob for a longer time with a consistent flame. 

The burners in Altius FS Hobs provide a focused flame output that is delivered vertically, directly under the pan. This ensures that no heat is wasted around the sides and the flame is spread uniformly across the cookware to consistently achieve the best cooking results without burning.

  • Heat it over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  • Let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the mixture has thickened.
  • Remove it from the heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • In Hafele’s Klara kitchen machine, mix the wheat flour with water to form a smooth dough.
  • Roll out the dough into small circles and deep-fry them in oil until they are golden brown.

Serve the Kheer with the Puri.

Pineapple Shrikhand



Shrikhand is a yogurt-based dessert that originated in the western part of India. It is made by straining yogurt to remove the whey and then mixing it with sugar and nuts. 

For this Gudi Padwa, we have added a tropical twist to this classic dessert by using fresh pineapple. Pineapple adds a tangy and sweet flavor to the creamy Shrikhand, making it a perfect dessert for the spring season.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of chopped pineapple
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts

Method
