3 Quick Meals To Cook In The Microwave While Working From Home

The 'work from home' norm may have eliminated our traffic troubles, but the workload remains quite the same!   • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • ½ tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tbsp Eno fruit salt
  • ½ tbsp Coriander, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 2 Red chillies, chopped
  • 6 Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Combine the besan, yogurt, hing, ginger, green chillies, turmeric, sugar, ½ tbsp oil, and salt in a bowl.
  • Pour ½ cup of water to the bowl, little at a time, and whisk well to make a smooth batter.
  • Add the Eno fruit salt; mix the batter, and then immediately pour it into 2 microwave safe mugs.
  • Microwave each mug separately for 2 minutes on a high setting.
  • Heat the leftover ½ tbsp oil in a pan and add in the mustard seeds. Once the seeds sputter, mix in the red chillies and curry leaves. Tadka is ready.

2. Peas Pulao

Method

  • Pour the ghee in a microwave safe bowl and let it melt on a high setting for 15 seconds
  • Add the jeera, dal chini, cloves, bay leaves, star anise, green chillies, and chopped onions into the bowl. Mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes or till the onions are caramelized.
  • Add the green peas, rice, and salt. Mix them gently and then pour the water.
  • Cover the bowl and microwave for 15 minutes, stirring once or twice in between.

  • Combine the curd with all the spices in a bowl and mix well. Add the paneer cubes and let it marinate for 20 minutes
  • Arrange the marinated paneer in a dish, brush with oil, and microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Turn over, brush again with little oil, and microwave again on high for 3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves, serve with green chutney and enjoy!
