World Coconut Day 2022: Top 3 Scrumptious Recipes With Coconut You Must Try At Home

The coconut tree is known as a Kalpavriksha for a reason, and there is always something about Coconut that will make you feel luscious.

Coconut meat and water are primarily known for their several health benefits.

As the world celebrates Coconut Day to raise its awareness, We at Hafele thought of coming up with some deliciously alluring coconut recipes you can try yourself.

Coconut Ladoo

You cannot miss out on this amazing Coconut Ladoo recipe that will leave you craving for more

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups desiccated coconut powder
  • Condensed milk as needed (approx. 1 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • Chopped nuts, almonds, cashews, or pistachios (optional)

Method

  • To start with, let's first desiccate the Coconut. Use Hafele's Klara Highline - Murphy Red Kitchen Machine, equipped with a dry grinding function, which is perfect for getting thin flakes of Coconut as fine as powdered form.

Expert Tip: Cooking any coconutty dish needs low flame, slow cooking, and a heavy bottom cookware

  • Place a heavy bottom Kadhai over your Hafele's Vortex 480 Gas hob.
  • First, dry roast the desiccated Coconut for a while until a smooth coconuty aroma is released.
  • Add ghee while keeping the flame low

Even though the flame is low, the direct injection of fuel and air in this gas hob results in a high-power burner gives a well-balanced flame for efficient cooking without burning the coconut mix.

This becomes possible due to the vertex flame design that creates 440 identical flame holes punched at a 30° angle to deflect the flame to rise vertically, which helps in the even distribution of the heat across the entire base of our Kadhai.

This hob comes from the Vertex Burner Hobs series from Hafele, which are very high in efficiency. They consume 12% less fuel compared to any regular brass burner of equivalent power output, due to their vertical flame that completely eliminates the heat loss from the sides of the burners when pots are placed.

This helps to save a lot of energy as this recipe takes a long time.

  • Add 2.5 cups of desiccated Coconut to the melted ghee. We are keeping the rest of the coconut powder for coating later.
  • Mix for a minute, then add condensed milk and mix thoroughly.
  • Continue stirring until the oil is visible.
  • Add cardamom and mix well.
  • As the mixture cools down, roll ladoos with gentle pressing.
  • Coat these ladoos with the remaining coconut powder, and you are done with Tasty and Healthy coconut ladoos.

Coconut Gujiya

Our next recipe is the popular traditional Indian dish, Coconut Gujiya!

Ingredients

  • 250 gm Maida
  • Oil as needed
  • 150 gm shredded coconut
  • Half bowl mixed dry fruits
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • water as needed
  • salt as needed
  • Powdered sugar as your choice
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

Method

  • Take Maida in Hafele's Glamline Pro - Red Power Mixer, a compact yet powerful mixer specially designed to ease daily tasks like kneading.
  • Add 1 tsp. ghee and add water as needed to knead a soft dough ball. Keep aside for a while
  • Take a pan and add the shredded Coconut to it. Sauté for some time and add the powdered sugar. Sauté again
  • Now crush the nuts into smaller units.
  • Add the crushed nuts and cardamom powder. Mix well and cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Keep aside
  • Now, the main part begins. Roll out small ball-sized Pooris of the dough and place a spoonful of the mixture at the center.
  • With gentle press, fold the edges of the rolled pooris. Repeat this for all the Maida or according to the number of your eating members.
  • Add oil to Hafele's SAUVE 01 Built-In Deep Fryer and fry the Gujiyas one by one until golden brown.

Coconut Kheer

Last but not least comes the truly scrumptious and mouth-watering Coconut Kheer!

Ingredients

  • 1 Freshly grated coconut
  • 1 liter Milk
  • Sugar as required
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • Half bowl dry fruits, Almonds, cashews, and pistachios
  • 1 pinch of Saffron strands

Method

  • Soak saffron strands in 2 tbsp. Warm milk.
  • Boil the remaining milk in a heavy bottom pot on medium flame. Stir continuously so that it doesn't stick to the base.
  • Our goal is to reduce the milk volume to 50%. Hafele's Vortex 460 gas hob will be an ideal appliance for this slow and fuel-consuming dish.

Its design gives a balanced flame. The web of this distinct flame creates a drape effect, where the flame rises vertically and drapes itself around any cooking vessel. This significantly reduces unnecessary heat transfer outside the cooking zone.

  • Once done, add the grated Coconut while continuous stirring
  • Bring to boil and let it simmer until the Coconut cooks well.
  • Add sugar, cardamom, saffron milk, and nuts, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with dry fruit flakes, and your coconut kheer is ready to be slurped!

We have seen three super tasty and healthy coconut dessert recipes that you can try not just on this World Coconut Day 2022, but throughout the year.

After this mention how to dry roast it to make it perfect desiccated coconut
